Basic advice from Francis. If you are going to use any of these materials for the first time then try them out on an area of the article that will not be seen. Example under the chair or sofa. Treatments can for instance can darken a colour slightly, then if satisfied treat the rest of the article. I get many emails from people stating that they don't like the shade or colour after they have dyed an article if they had tested it first on an area not seen they would have avoided that disappointment.
