 Skirt Shaves

Plough Gauges.

An old style Binocular case under repair by Francis, made from Case Hide & built on a block. With corner stitching (Closing) on top & bottom . Using a pair of No. 6 Pricking Irons the sides are marked with the Portmanteau Iron & the top & the bottom with a Harness Iron. This is explained in the manuals.

Examples of Stirrup Leathers. These show the traditional layout of the stitching as used by UK Saddlers . They are normally sewn using hand made 4 & 5 cord Hemp Thread. Notice the 3 rows, also that the central one is set back. This is all explained in  Manual No.1.
